Our History

TEAM Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2003 to further the goals of TEAM Industries’ founder, Don Ricke. Ricke, who grew up in the small town of Bagley, in northern Club HouseMinnesota, had a true affinity for his home state. His rural upbringing inspired both his dream and his lasting commitment to improving the quality of life within rural Minnesota. To achieve his dream, Ricke first set out to build and expand his company, TEAM Industries.

The machine shops brought good jobs with decent wages to rural Minnesota communities. Then, as the company grew and diversified, new technologies, skills and specialties were introduced. As a result, opportunities increased and the rural communities around TEAM plants were strengthened. In addition to his savvy business sense, Ricke was also known for his kind and giving nature. He gave freely and generously, but modestly declined recognition for his benevolent acts. Although Ricke was diagnosed with cancer in 1992, and succumbed to the disease in 1997, his dream continues today.

TEAM Industries continues to provide jobs in rural areas, and Ricke’s altruistic tradition is now carried on through the auspices of TEAM Foundation.
